FAQ

Yes, you’ll find that you can use FRIGG pacifiers for newborns. Their size 1 dummies are well-suited to newborn babies and those up to 6 months of age.

The one factor to be mindful of is that you should not introduce a dummy of any kind to a newborn until you’ve established your breastfeeding routine with them. This is typically well-established within the first month, at which point you can give them a dummy.

FRIGG is committed to the manufacture of non-toxic pacifiers that are safe for babies of all ages. As such, FRIGG pacifiers are BPA-free, BPS-free, PVC-free, and free of all phthalates. Their pacifiers are made with either natural rubber or medical-grade silicone.

Yes, FRIGG has several stylish pacifier designs that reflect various aspects of modern Danish culture as well as Nordic culture. The name FRIGG comes from the Nordic Goddess of Motherhood and Fertility.

The dummy designs that Sleepytot sell include:

  • Daisy - designed in the shape of a daisy, which is the national flower of Denmark.
  • Fairytale - a design inspired by the classic fairytales of Danish author, Hans Christian Andersen.
  • Little Viking - a design that reflects the style of Viking round shields, including the Fehu symbol from the Norse runic alphabet.
  • Moon Phase - a design that includes the different phases of the moon around the pacifier shield.
  • Rope - a simple rounded pacifier shield that includes a rope-like design around the edge.
  • Night - this includes many of FRIGG’s main designs in a glow-in-the-dark pacifier.

Yes, they are. Like most dummies, FRIGG dummies can usually be cleaned by either immersing the dummy in boiling water for five or so minutes or through a combination of warm water and mild soap (an appropriate option when your little one is 6 months or older).

Whether you clean or sterilise it through mild soap and water or boiling water, respectively, you simply rinse it off afterwards and give it time to dry and cool down before giving it back to your baby. Make sure you clean the dummy daily and focus on sterilising it with boiling water if your baby is under 6 months old. This is essential as newborns and young babies’ immune systems are still underdeveloped.

Make sure you only place the dummy in boiling water or that you pour boiling water over it in a bowl. Do not actively boil the pacifier in a pot as this will cause damage.

Absolutely! FRIG pacifiers help with teething pain in the following ways:

  • As your baby teethes, they usually develop an intense urge to bite or chew due to their sore, irritated gums. By sucking or chewing on a dummy, they can help alleviate gum discomfort.
  • Sucking on a dummy has a soothing effect on your baby, which can help take their focus away from the discomfort they’re experiencing as they teethe. FRIGG dummies serve as a good distraction from the pain of teething.
  • Teething can make your baby irritable, and a dummy can provide a greater sense of security and comfort for them, which in turn helps reduce their irritability.
  • If you chill the FRIGG dummy in the fridge before use, the cold surface of the dummy can help numb the gums and reduce inflammation, providing temporary relief from symptoms for your baby.

FRIGG recommends replacing their dummies every four to eight weeks, similar to most other dummies on the market. If your baby frequently uses the dummy and has strong suction, you’ll likely have to replace the dummy every four weeks.

You should not go beyond eight weeks, even if the dummy doesn’t look damaged. Bacteria builds up quickly and necessitates replacing dummies on a semi-regular basis to care for your baby’s immune system, regardless of wear and tear.
