The Sleepy Hugs is a uniquely designed baby sleep bag designed for babies who have outgrown swaddling and prefer unrestricted arm movement but still need some security to calm their startle reflex, yet provides just enough security to combat the startle reflex. It's the perfect sleep bag to help babies transition to free arms without losing sleep.  Perfect for tummy rollers.

The Sleepy Hugs baby sleeping bag comes in three sizes:

NOTE: the measurements provided below are of the garment and does not include baby's head.

  • X-Small (0-3 M) - suitable for babies aged from newborn to 12 weeks, weighing 3 - 6 kg. The arm span width is approx. 46cm. The length is approx. 56cm and the neck hole opening is approx. 9cm. 

  • Small (3-6 M) - suitable for babies aged from 3 months onwards weighing 6 - 8 kg. The arm span width is approx. 56cm. The length is approx. 65cm and the neck hole opening of approx. 11cm. 

  • Medium (6-12 M) - suitable for babies aged from 6 months onwards, weighing 8 - 10 kg. The arm span width is approx. 65cm.The length is approx. 75cm and the neck hole opening is approx. 12cm.

'Extra Hug' Belly Band

The ‘Extra Hug’ Belly Band/Strap for parents to use with the award winning Sleepy Hugs transitional sleep suits to give babies that extra ‘hug’ feeling of security. 

Designed to be used as an option for babies that need more security and need a little more help with transitioning out of swaddling. Using the ‘Extra Hug’ Belly Band/Strap with the Sleepy Hugs is a great way to add a little more resistance for babies that may have strong startle reflex.

The ‘Extra Hug’ Belly Band/Strap can be worn on top of the Sleepy Hugs or inside the Sleepy Hugs using the belt loops provided to give the added resistance in the arms to help control the startle reflex. 

  • Use the ‘Extra Hug’ Belly Band/Strap only if your baby needs the extra security or extra help with transitioning out of the swaddle.  
  • The ‘Extra Hug’ Belly Band/Strap must be worn snug-fit around the baby’s tummy area (never loose fit).
  • Discontinue use if your baby can remove the ‘Extra Hug’ Belly Band/Strap.
  • The ‘Extra Hug’ Belly Band/Strap is not a medical device. It should not be used for umbilical hernias or other underlying medical conditions.
  • The ‘Extra Hug’ Belly Band/Strap should not be used as a substitute for a compression band and is not suitable for post surgery support.
  • The ‘Extra Hug’ Belly Band/Strap is made from stretchy organic cotton for a soft comfortable fit.

    Baby Loves Sleep use only high grade premium organic cotton fabrics in all products. Cotton is a naturally breathable material so babies won't sweat or overheat and suitable for eczema. 

    Care Instructions: Cold Machine wash. Keep zipped up in the wash. Wash dark colours separately. Do not bleach. Do not tumble dry. Dry flat. Warm iron inside out. Do not dry clean.
