The Baby Shusher will never replace comfort and cuddles from Mum and Dad.
Guaranteed every time I put a action video of the shusher online, I get at least one comment which sounds something like this ‘why don’t you just pick the baby up and cuddle them’. This would be my answer to some who haven’t quite come to terms with this new baby sleep miracle.
“The Baby Shusher doesn’t replace a cuddle, a feed, a change, burping or even a lullaby but it does give mums a chance to gently soothe a baby out of a crying spell and remain calm. In fact, a lot of Mums use the Baby Shusher along with other soothing techniques such as cuddles. Some mums that have been up between 8-10 times a night have found it a complete life saver enabling them to soothe baby without stressing themselves or their little one. So many Mums end in tears from not being able to soothe their baby out of a crying spell or suffer from PND and find it hard to cope. The Baby Shusher is endorsed by leading USA pediatrician Dr Harvey Karp from the “Happiest Baby on the Block” His shushing technique can be seen in use over and over again on the internet. The Baby Shusher has been successfully used with morphine addicted babies, little ones coming out of operations whereby they can’t always be given a cuddle and even premature babies that can’t always be held either.”
Baby Shushers not only work on babies; they settle over tired toddlers and can have a relaxing effect on parents too!
It’s true. The Baby Shusher was originally designed to settle newborns up to 4 months (the 4th trimester), however our customers soon started to report that whilst using the shusher on their babies, their older siblings responded very well to the sound of the shusher, often sending them off to sleep as well.
The shushing triggers the calming reflex we are all born with. Some husbands have also been known to fall asleep very quickly with the shusher going. This is my hubby and so sorry you will have to rotate your head! – haha!
The Baby Shusher was developed by parents Chad and Katie Zunker who created the product out of their own personal desperation at home whilst raising their three little girls.
Chad and Katie’s story is linked here and is well worth a read.
The Baby Shusher does not like rechargable batteries – do not use!!
Kim Kardashian loves her Baby Shusher!
She really does! There were no gratuities paid for her endorsement, in fact the company were just as surprised as we were when the Baby Shusher appeared on her show, Keeping up with the Kardashians.
Newborn photographers can’t get enough of our Baby Shusher.
Here is a review from a professional newborn photographer “Thanks so much for making our life easy; not only as a newborn photographer but also with my own wee man”. Richele Louisson Photography
The Baby Shusher was created due to demand from customers who had previously used the Baby Shusher App, but now wanted their phones back.
Customers were also concerned about having modern technology so close to their babies head. We have had numerous reports from customers telling us how much more effective the Baby Shusher is compared to the app.
The Baby Shusher is an adaption of white noise.
Traditionally white noise is designed to be played during the entire sleep cycle. The Baby Shusher is a settling tool which stops baby crying, and helps them learn to settle quickly. You can use this in conjunction with a white noise CD.
The Baby Shusher is so relaxing that it has been known to help with Mums let-down whilst breastfeeding!
The Baby Shusher was recently mentioned in the ‘Daily Post’ as a must have baby product for Kate and Wills! Now that’s high Royal praise!

The Baby Shusher – A Sleep Miracle For Baby
By now you may have heard someone talking about The Baby Shusher.
This little pocket sleep miracle received a tonne of publicity after being featured on various media platforms including The Auckland Baby Show, The Herald and TV 3 News.
Of course it helped that Kim Kardashian raved about the Baby Shusher on her show revealing that she used it every night with her daughter North and ….shock horror it worked!
Now, I have had some comments from a few mums that fear new technology has gone a little crazy . I have heard one mum say ‘This is for lazy mums who want a gadget to replace what they should be doing’.
Here are my thoughts;
The Baby Shusher was not designed to replace mum or dad.
The Baby Shusher certainly doesn’t replace a cuddle, a feed, a change, burping or even a lullaby but it does give mums a chance to gently soothe a baby out of a crying spell, and remain calm. Some mums that have been up between 8-10 times a night have found it a complete life saver enabling them to soothe baby without stressing their little one out. Surely every Mum would rather have a gentler way to soothe their baby than controlled crying! The Baby Shusher can even be used whilst having a cuddle.
The Baby Shusher has been used with great success with Morphine addicted babies, Mum’s with post natal depression and other babies who have had to go through major operations and maybe in some instances cannot be picked up.
We now know that The Baby Shusher works effectively on toddlers, calming them down if they are in an excitable or aggressive mood. I have even had mums say that it helps them relax when they are breastfeeding, helping with their let down of milk.
The Baby Shusher features a doctor-approved and thoroughly tested technique designed to break a baby’s cry spell and engage their natural calming reflex. The rhythmic shush reminds baby of being inside mum, with loud sounds of blood flow and other in utero noises up to 95 dBs, or the sound of a very loud vacuum cleaner, which they find extremely mesmerizing and calming.
***** 5 star A friend sent me a Baby Shusher and it arrived just at the right time. My 7 week old was absolutely beside himself and nothing was settling him. Turned on the shusher and within 30 seconds he had stopped crying, and was asleep in 5 minutes. I’ve found it even helps me relax when I’m feeling a bit stressed too 🙂 – Kirsty
